Melt and Pour Soap

Linen and Citrus scented Apricot Seed bars

We tried our hand at soap making today. Let's just say we made the best old lady smelling soaps in the history of old lady smelling soaps. To start with, we used a kit we bought from Michaels that gives you everything you need.

It's actually a pretty simple project, it just requires you to work fast before the soap cools and hardens. Other than that, you just melt the soap base of your choice, pick the color pigment and fragrance you want, mix, and pour into the mold of your choice to let cool.

I would have showed it melted, but you need to work with it fast.
No time for pictures.

Easy as that.

The first batch didn't come out all that good because we weren't fast enough with the melted soap. So we ended up just remelting the soap we made the first time, and re-pouring it into the mold.
I think we were pretty successful with some practice, and now that we have the hang of it, and we know what we need, we're going to try and make more intricate soap. Using herbs, and hand picked soap base/scents.

Jasmine scented Goats Milk Soap, with Lavender flowers

This was my second attempt at making soap with my own ingredients.
I just used goat milk soap base, jasmine oil, and lavender flower.
